FSBC'S VISION & GOALS FOR 2022-2023
We envision a growing church experiencing relevant and engaging worship, and equipping believers who are living out their faith in their daily lives in the environments that God has placed them. There are specific things that each of us need to do as a church family as we carry out this God-given vision. We need to P.U.S.H. toward being the church that God has called us to be:
To make this vision statement a realty, we must collectively take steps to work toward the church's goals for 2022-2023. Here are three steps outlined by Pastor Joe Stiles: STEP ONE: Rebuild Worship Attendance - 2/35/23 Our goal is to increase attendance in each of our two services by 35 people by the end of 2023. This will bring us back to a worship attendance of what we were running before the pandemic. To attain this goal, it will require EVERYONE inviting family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, people you’ve never met to join you in worship. Our church staff will endeavor to plan worship services that inspire and point people to a life changing relationship with the Lord. STEP TWO: Increase Bible Study & Small Group Engagement – 20% increase We currently have 15 Bible Study & Small Groups that meet throughout the week. Our goal is to increase the involvement of people – of all ages – in these groups. Increasing twenty percent means beginning 3 new groups by the end of 2023. This Step is essential for reaching our church's vision of more believers being equipped to live out their faith and more non-believers hearing about God and His Word. STEP THREE: Greater Awareness of Service Opportunities and Expectation to Serve We believe it is essential for every believer to actively utilize their God-given spiritual gifts in service - both within the church and community. Serving provides opportunities for us – followers of Jesus Christ – to live out our faith. |

OUR BELIEFS
A statement of our faith.
The Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It is God inspired and 100 percent true. (Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16)
God is eternal and equal in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19)
Jesus was God in the flesh; completely God and completely man. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins. Three days after His crucifixion, He rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father; and He will return again. (Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1,14; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5, 3:16)
Jesus is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 23-25; Luke 1:27-35)
Jesus was raised from the dead three days after His death and ascended to the right hand of the Father. (John 2:19-21, 20:26-28 Romans 8:34)
Man was created in the image of God but sinned in the Garden of Eden. Consequently, we are all lost and sinful, and our only hope for redemption is in Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21)
To know God, is to know Christ and to follow His ways. (John 6:44, 65)
Man is saved by grace alone, not by good works, but through a personal faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is a result of repentance of our sins. Repentance is the commitment to turn away from all sin and to follow Jesus. (Romans 10:9-10; Acts 3:19; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:22)
The Holy Spirit has all the divine characteristics of God and dwells in all believers. (Romans 1:11; Hebrews 2:4; 1 Peter 4:10)
The church is a representative of Jesus and is to carry out the Great Commission. Every person who is born again is a member of God's Church on earth and is to be a part of a local church. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; John 17:11)
The church has two ordinances command by Jesus - baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
Heaven is the eternal home for all believers of Jesus Christ. After death, we will be judged by God and sent to either Heaven and Hell according to our faith in Him. (Matthew 5:12, 25:34,41; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 20:12-15, 21:8)
Jesus will return to earth at an undisclosed date to establish His kingdom. (Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 1:7)

- BAPTISM: a symbol of death, burial and resurrection of Christ and the new life that we have in Him. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)
- THE LORD'S SUPPER: a time to reflect on Christ's sacrifice and to prepare for His return. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16)
